Meet Dr. Joseph Jenkins

Joseph Jenkins, DDS

Dr. Jenkins was born and raised in a small town in southeastern Ohio. He and his wife are excited to have Puyallup as their new home and enjoy the small town feel this community offers. When not in the office, you can find him hiking on local trails with his wife, Bobbi, and Australian Shepherd, Luna.

Dr. Jenkins completed a degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Cincinnati and then received his doctor of dental surgery (DDS) degree from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 2020, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He went on to receive advanced training in general dentistry with a focus on oral surgery from one of the top dental residencies in the nation at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. The additional training allowed him to develop proficiency in the areas of dental implants, bone grafting, wisdom teeth extraction, IV sedation and prosthodontics

Outside the Office

Dr. Jenkins loves hiking, mountaineering, and traveling with his wife Bobbi and Australian shepherd, Luna. He loves escaping the city and being surrounded by natural beauty. He also enjoys snow skiing, a favorite past time with his family growing up. He and his family skied in Park City, Utah during the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.

His favorite national park is Mount Rainier National Park. He and Dr. Zander frequently hike the standard summit route up to Camp Muir at 10,000 feet elevation. He has yet to summit the mountain, but it is the ultimate goal. Standby for a picture of he and Dr. Zander from the summit with an Ascend Dental flag!

Recently, he has developed a passion for photography. Although a novice in outdoor photography, he is always taking camera recommendations. In the office, you will see him taking patient photos on his DSLR ring flash Canon camera. He uses this photography to help plan complex treatment plans and to communicate to our dental labs. His creative nature, matched with his desire to transform the lives of his patients, makes being a dentist his dream job.
